FAQ's

WHAT IS A VINYL STICKER?

Vinyl is a self-adhesive product. It can be printed,  contour cut or both and is widely used for the decoration of all interior and exterior surfaces. Professionally vinyl stickers are implemented on signs, vehicles, windows, and more. Home decorators will use vinyl stickers to personalize their homes, offices and favourite objects.

IS VINYL EASY TO APPLY?

Yes, vinyl is easy to apply. Smaller stickers are more manageable on your own and for larger pieces, you will need an extra pair of hands just to get the vinyl into position.  We recommend the wet soapy water solution method for most applications. We will however provide easy-to-follow application instructions with your order.

HOW DOES THE SHIPPING WORK?

Orders will be shipped from PostNet to PostNet at their standard rate plus packaging which comes to R220. You will provide your closest PostNet branch for self-pickup. We have found there to be too many complications with home deliveries especially when people are not home during delivery times. This option is available via arrangement with additional charges payable before the order will be sent.

HOW SOON WILL I BE ABLE TO COLLECT MY ORDER FROM POSTNET?

The average period is one week up to 10 days but it can take up to 2 weeks. You will receive a confirmation email of your order once the payment process is completed. We will also send you your tracking number via email when the product has been dispatched from our PostNet branch in Randburg.

WHAT CAN VINYL STICKERS BE APPLIED TO?

Vinyl stickers can be applied to any clean, smooth, non-porous surfaces. This would include painted walls, glass, mirrors, metal, painted wood, and plastic.

HOW CAN I REMOVE THE VINYL?

Before attempting to remove the vinyl, first apply heat to the surface using a heat gun or hairdryer. It will be much easier to remove and will not leave any adhesive residue. Start at one of the top corners of the material and pull it slowly at a 180-degree angle towards the surface it was applied on.

CAN I REMOVE AND CHANGE THE LOCATION OF THE VINYL STICKER?

Yes, but only if you have selected the “Removable” vinyl option. Retac vinyl can be removed and repositioned easily. Removable vinyl is perfect for renters because it can be removed when you move out and re-used at your new house without any hassle. Remove and reposition the stickers when you decide to move some furniture around and still maintain the look you had. Simply keep the old backing paper or use refuge bags to stick the stickers onto to protect the glue side from dust and other particles. Retac vinyl is more expensive due to its special adhesive properties. Although the 3-Year vinyl can be removed it is with much more effort.

CAN I CUSTOMISE MY STICKER WITH AN IMAGE OF MY CHOICE?

Certainly! Simply use our custom designs section and send us the details of your custom project.

CAN I CREATE AND ORDER MY OWN PATTERNS?

Yes, you are welcome to download your own pattern images to use for your projects. Use our custom designs section to order.

WHAT IS CONTRA VISION WINDOW VINYL?

Contra Vision is a perforated window film for printing one-way vision window graphics. Providing one-way privacy and solar shading during daylight hours. Blinds or curtains are still needed at night.

WHAT IS FROSTED WINDOW VINYL?

Frosted window film is a stylish product designed to obscure glass for privacy during the day and at night, and for added security in your home or office. Window frosting film is affordable, durable and very easy to apply, using just soapy water and a felt-edged tool or squeegee. Our frosted window vinyl can be ordered to size bespoke to your window or glass door measurements.

CAN PEOPLE SEE THROUGH CONTRA VISION PRIVACY FILM AT NIGHT?

Yes, one-way privacy window films do not work at night. In particular, people will be able to see inside if the room is illuminated. If you are looking for a one-way window film that works at night, there is one available called Contra Vision® White 24/7 Concealed Vision™. This creates a similar one-way vision effect as net curtains during daytime. At night time, the window film is partially illuminated by the light from inside and this helps to obscure the view. However, the positioning of the light inside is important. The more diffused, the better. Curtains and blinds are still needed if you want strong privacy. If you need strong 24/7 privacy, you need a frosted or stained glass product which also blocks the view for people inside the room.
